You will get connected with people who share life''s struggles and life''s treasures by encouraging one another to do life together – with the highs and lows – in a way that brings them closer to God. Below are some additional answers to common Journey Group questions:Why should I join a Journey Group?North Rock Hill does not have abundance of activities and programs on purpose. We want you to have time to be involved with your families, communities, and one another. Journey Groups are a vital piece of this strategy. They are the best environment at NRHC to grow in your relationship with God and others in the church. Are all Journey Groups the same? All Journey Groups share a common purpose and structure, but their personalities are as unique as the people in them. Each group takes on a life of its own based upon the people in the group. Do I have to be a member of NRHC to join a Journey Group? No. Membership is required to lead a Journey Group. How often do Journey Groups meet? Most Journey Groups meet weekly on a regular day and time. How long does a typical Journey Group stay together? Our groups are ongoing. They do not have a predetermined time to disband. What happens at a Journey Group meeting?Every group is different, but all share some common elements. Most groups have a time for just hanging out and catching up – usually over some snacks. The central piece is a time of study focused on biblical principles. Groups decide which study they want to pursue, and the group time is interactive and engaging. Each person is encouraged to participate as he or she feels comfortable. Lastly groups will spend some time praying for one another. Where do Journey Groups meet? Most of our Journey Groups meet in homes. Are there any groups that meet Sunday morning at the church?Presently no groups are meeting at times concurrent with Sunday worship services, and there are no plans to begin making this available. We believe that a home environment is much more conducive to building genuine relationships. Is childcare available? Each group decides how it will handle childcare. Some groups arrange for a babysitter to care for children during the group meeting, while others have group members rotate this responsibility. Other groups require each participant to make their own arrangements, and some groups have no need for childcare. What If... JG StudyDo you need the |
